I received a call from Doug a few months ago and was eagerly awaiting his surprise session. He was surprising Sam at the Newport Vineyard and asking her to marry him! I have been waiting to shoot one of these sessions for awhile after seeing them in publications all over the internet. It’s such a special moment and he did a great job with the surprise. The two of them came walking through the vines (on a very chilly day) and there was a small picnic area set up with a custom bottle of wine. Sam was clearly confused but as soon as Doug dropped on one knee, the tears came and didn’t stop. She was so cute and so darn surprised. Thanks for trusting me with this big moment Doug! BRAVO!

Jessica showed up to her session looking absolutely stunning. I had to think back to when we emailed back and forth regarding details because I just couldn’t believe that she was due to have her baby in only four weeks! It looked as if she had a tiny little basketball under that floral dress and that was it. She was so easy going and overall fun! I think we started joking and laughing as soon as she got there and it didn’t stop until we finished.

When we got both mom and dad together the playfulness and the sweet hugs and kisses topped off this session along with the perfect sunset. I can’t wait to find out the gender of your new little baby! Wishing you a comfy and calm remainder of your pregnancy Jess, thanks for spending a gorgeous afternoon with me!

I was so excited when I heard from Julie not only because she is getting married at one of my favorite venues in Newport, but because I photographed Julie when she was a bridesmaid in one of her dear friend’s weddings and now it’s her turn to be the bride! We planned her engagement session with John during risky weather but somehow we ended up with a glowing sun, minimal wind, and the perfect evening temperature.

They climbed down the famous Newport rocks to get “the shot”, thankfully without any wipeouts involved and they were so darn cute together. Both were so relaxed in front of the camera which is always refreshing to photograph. I hear their wedding crowd is a fantastic group and I can’t wait for the warmer weather to creep up on us and to get wedding season going! Enjoy the last few months of engagement bliss Julie + John!
